The Bixby Creek Bridge on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, in Big Sur, Calif. Drivers are forced to U-turn on the road before the Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge, as engineers continue to assemble a new bridge. Visitors may park at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park and walk up the Community Bypass Trail to continue.
